The Holy Trinity Choir School
A Complete Music Education Experience in the RSCM Tradition 
 

 

 

 

What does the Holy Trinity Choir School offer?
  • A unique musical opportunity for children to prepare and regularly perform the finest choral music
  • The chance to form friendships with other music-loving children from Monmouth and Ocean counties
  • Instruction in music reading and ensemble performance skills Awards which correspond to each level of the RSCM curriculum
  • Participation in summer courses and choir festivals sponsored by the Royal School of Church Music in America, offering the opportunity to work with distinguished guest directors from around the world
 
  When does the Choir School meet?
  • Cherub Choir (pre-K & Kindergarten) Rehearsals TBA
    • Children focus on matching pitch and rhythm.
    • Movement and percussion instruments such as Boomwhackers are incorporated into rehearsal
  • Junior Choristers (grades 1 & 2) meet from 4-5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, September through June.
    • Children spend time discovering their singing voices, developing their sense of rhythm, and learning age-appropriate repertoire.
  • Choristers (grades 3-8) meet from 4-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, September through June. 
    • Choristers use the RSCM curriculum Voice for Life, which focuses on age-appropriate vocal training, sight-singing, and music theory.
  • Teen Girls (Junior High-Grade 12) meet from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursdays, September through June.
    • The Girls rehearse as their own ensemble for one hour and then sing with the Holy Trinity Choir for the remaining hour.
    • Members of this ensemble use the same RSCM curriculum as the Choristers and are eligible for all awards, trips, and courses.
  • Teen Boys whose voices have changed are invited to join the Holy Trinity Choir which rehearses from 7-9 p.m. on Thursdays, September through June.
    • Teen Boys use the same RSCM curriculum and are eligible for all awards, trips, and courses.
 
Is there any cost?
  • The core of the Holy Trinity Choir School is offered free of charge to all children.
  • When major events are planned, parents are asked to cover the cost of registration fees and/or take an active role in fund-raising activities.
  • Scholarships are available on a need basis.
